We are saddened by the news that our kindergarten teacher, Mrs Katherine Groat passed away early this morning. Mrs. Groat was someone who was born and raised in the community of South Naknek, and has spent the last 40 years working in our schools. She was a remarkable teacher, a caring and compassionate person, and someone we will miss dearly. The School Board, district staff, and community will have Mrs. Groat and her family in our thoughts throughout this school year and beyond.
