Week of December 15

Next week is a busy week with the programs and special events planned. There will be a special lunch on Thursday and school will close after the 19th, reopening on January 5th. Please have a safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Happy New Year to each of you! It is -22 degrees outside right now, but the sun is shining. The wind chill is probably around -50, but the car still started. It is dark when I wakeup in the morning, but the days are getting longer. A side of me hesitates to make a new year’s resolution, especially on the World Wide Web, so let me just put it to you this way: As we begin our new year together in the wonderful communities of South Naknek, King Salmon, and Naknek, as your Principal at Bristol Bay Borough School, I am committed to enjoying the sun with you when it’s -22. I am committed to relish in relief with you when our cars start at -50, and I will continue to cheer with you our lengthening daylight hours, even though we still are having coffee in the dark. Positives before negatives in every situation, and before you know it folks, our swans will be returning on the edges of spring. –Mr. Townsend |
